EFCC arraigns Senator Albert Bassey on money laundering charges

EFCC today arraigned Senator Albert Bassey, popularly known as OBA, before Justice A. A. Okeke of the Federal High Court, sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on a six-count charge bordering on money laundering.   The Senator appeared in court today, following a bench warrant issued on him by the same court on June 17, 2019, for breaching the terms of bail granted him by the Commission.   The case against the Senator is hinged on the allegation that he took possession of six vehicles worth N204million, at the instance of one Olajide Omokore, whose companies had contracts with the State …

Tribunal dismisses Atiku, PDP’s request to access and inspect INEC’s server

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed an application by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to have access and inspect the Central server said to have been used by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the conduct of the February 23 presidential election.   In a unanimous ruling delivered today Monday June 24th, Justice Mohammed Garba-led bench of five judges, upheld the separate objections by the three respondents to the application. The three respondents are INEC, Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress.   Delivering judgement in the application, the tribunal held that granting such an application when …

Man whose wife allegedly stabbed him in Kano shares his own side of the story

Saeed Hussein, the young man whose wife, Hanan, allegedly stabbed during a fight at their home in Kano state last week Friday June 21st, has shared his own side of the story.   Recall that the couple made news over the weekend after photos of an injured Saeed surfaced online with claims that his wife of just 6 months, Hana, stabbed him.
